ALEX VALLANCE
Helensburgh Cemetery
Alex Vallance
1860 - 1898
We have records of Alex keeping goal for the Rangers second 11 in 1874 when he was only 14 years old.
Alex was mine host at the Red Lion Pub on West Nile Street Glasgow which today is the Courtyard Bar.
He played for the Rangers for many years and after extensive research we found his final resting in Helensburgh. Also buried just yards away in the same cemetery is John Logie Baird the inventor of the world’s first publicly displayed television.
