Let us take you on a journey of discovery back to 1872 when The Rangers were just the dream of four young lads.
Our day begins at the Founders Trail welcome desk which is located within Argyle House Reception at Ibrox Stadium from 11.00am on the day of the Tour prior to our 11.30pm departure from outside of the Rangers Megastore. We then make our way along to Fleshers Haugh via Paisley Road West.
At Fleshers Haugh we tell the story of the birth of the Rangers on the very spot that we played that first game in 1872 against Callander. We also visit the Football Centre and view the plaque that we had placed there in 2009 which marks this momentous location in the city.
Then it’s back on to the coach and we then make our way through the City Centre of Glasgow pointing out various locations linked to our early years and continue to build on the Founders story.
After visiting the West of Scotland Cricket ground where Rangers played their first ever Scottish Cup Final in 1877, we have a food and refreshment break at nearby Partick Bowling Club. Here we give you the opportunity to view our selection of our merchandise and give away some raffle prizes.
After our half-time break we head deeper into the West End of Glasgow and visit the location of what was Rangers second home at Burnbank.
We’re soon on our way again and back across the river to the Southside to what was Rangers third home at Kinning Park and we visit the location of First Ibrox in the shadow of our current home.
Our penultimate location is Craigton Cemetery where we pay our respects at the final resting place of Founder Peter McNeil and greatest ever manager Mr Struth. Craigton Cemetery is a very poignant place during the Founders Trail and it is here that we explain the on-going work behind the Rangers Graves Restoration Project.
Ibrox Stadium is our final stop of the day at approximately 4pm where we hand you over to the Club’s Tour Guides who will share their vast knowledge of the Cub and Stadium with you.
