A few weeks ago we located in Craigton Cemetery Glasgow the final resting place of a William McNair who sadly lost his life at the 1902 Ibrox Disaster.

We’re delighted to say that his stone has now been re-erected and cleaned and we’d like to thank friend of the project Alex Black Funeral Director Glasgow for all his help with this restoration

The 1902 Ibrox disaster was the collapse of a stand at the Broomloan Road end of Ibrox Stadium .The collapse caused the deaths of 25 supporters, and injuries to 500 more during an international football match between Scotland and England on 5th April 1902 as part of the 1901–02 British Home Championship.
