The Restoration of Rangers Graves Project Remembering the 66. Margaret Ferguson and The Markinch Boys.
A few years ago friends of the Project Chris Beglin and Alex Forsyth restored the memorial benches to Margaret Ferguson at Muiravonside Cemetery and the five boys from Markinch who didn’t return home.
Yesterday afternoon Chris and Alex once again got to work to ensure the memorials are kept in pristine condition.
Our heartfelt thanks and appreciation goes to the guys for their wonderful work.
Thank you

Whilst working on the bench in Markinch we were approached by a man who politely asked us what we were doing. After explaining and getting speaking to him for a bit we learned that he was a church elder called Ian Sankey. He knew the story about the 5 boys and actually used to work with the mother of Peter Easton (both were teachers). He then invited us into the church and gave us a look around and explained some of the history. Just as we were getting ready to leave, he pointed me to an open bible that was sitting in one of the church windows. He said the bible had been dedicated to the 5 boys following their deaths and told me to scroll to the front for a look. Made my day seeing this as I didn’t know it was there.
